Kristen Spece, PTA

Staff Physical Therapist Assistant

Kristen Spece is a staff Physical Therapist Assistant at Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Arcadia University in 2010, prior to returning to school to pursue her passion for the Physical Therapy field. Kristen graduated with an Associates in Applied Science degree from Delaware Technical and Community College in the Physical Therapy Assistant class of 2014.

Kristen is excited to begin her career with Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance and give back to her local athletic and orthopedic community. She hopes to pursue future options in the field by continuing into a graduate Doctorate physical therapy program, and becoming an APTA Board Certified Clinical Instructor in addition to gaining other clinical specializations, which further her growth and knowledge for the field.

Kristen’s passion for sports rehabilitation and athletics began when Kristen attended Sussex Technical High School in Georgetown, Delaware. Kristen played Varsity softball and field hockey all four years at Sussex Tech and concentrated her academics in Athletic Health Care where she was a student athletic trainer and aided in the rehabilitation of various sports injuries. While attending Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania Kristen continued her softball career as a catcher on the Women’s softball team all four years in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) and the Freedom and Commonwealth Conferences. Kristen received her first team all-conference honors in 2009 and second team all-conference honors in 2010 and was awarded the Women’s Distinguished Athlete Award among all of Arcadia’s women senior athletes upon her graduation.

Kristen decided to return to her home town of Lewes, Delaware to serve her local community and be close to her family. Kristen continues to be supported by her parents Eric and Patricia Swanson, siblings Amanda Bertoncini and Jesse Swanson. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and high school sweet heart Zac Kristen where they both enjoy attending concerts and sporting events, traveling and relaxing at the beach.
