Staff Physical Therapist Assistant
Kristi Cox is a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant at Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and graduated from AI DuPont high school. Kristi became state champion in the 400 meter dash in 2006, earning a track and field scholar ship to attend the University of Delaware. There she led her team to achieve All Colonial Conference and All East Conference the four years she attended. Her senior year, as the women’s track and field captain, she and her team became CAA champions in the 4×400 meter relay. In 2011 Kristi graduated from UD earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Behavior Sciences. She went on to achieve her strength and conditioning certification in 2013 while working with University of Delaware’s football team, soft ball team, and women’s lacrosse, prior to pursing her career in physical therapy.
Kristi attended Delaware Technical Community College earning a seat in their Physical Therapy Assistant program. While attending Delaware Tech, Kristi earned the First State Orthopaedics Award In recognition of clinical excellence presented by Dr. Axe. During her time in the Physical therapy assistant program she spent time volunteering and working with some of her favorite charities and organizations such as Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay and The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware.
Kristi is excited to begin her career as a physical therapy assistant at Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. She truly enjoys working with athletic and orthopedic injuries and is excited to grow as a clinician with help from her colleagues. Kristi enjoys playing recreational flag football with her friends, visiting her extended family in West Virginia, and hanging out with her family and their dog Mr. Chase.
